The bare facts

Before writing The Girl Who… I was a freelance writer, book reviewer and journalist. I’ve interviewed some amazing people about their incredible lives. I have written for women’s magazines including Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Good Housekeeping, Prima, that’s life!, Stylist and Real People. I have been Books Editor for Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and Reclaim. I live on the South Coast with my lovely family. I spend most of my time avoiding them to try and write.
Five random things about me…
1: Like my character Ellie in The Girl Who…, I did once walk into a bar eating an apple. Everyone stared at me like I was naked. Unlike Ellie I found this a bit embarrassing.
2: I’m allergic to pretty much everything that floats in the air and have a sneeze so loud I once stopped everyone in their tracks at Milan airport.
3: There’s a guitar hanging on my wall that I haven’t played in more than seven years. I still tell people I’m learning guitar.
4: I’m half Italian – hence the name – and my favourite food is home made ravioli in broth and home made tortellini.
5: I live by the sea and swim in it whenever I can, even in the dead of winter.
